The most recent presentation focused on showcasing the game to the music students, we presented our potential sound profile alongside a brief introduction to the games narrative, visuals, and its core gameplay. This presentation served as a quick and effective way to communicate the game concept and the gameworld.

Whilst the presentation did not fully go to plan, with limited attendance from the music students, it still proved to be a valuable experience. It encouraged us to explore and consider the game’s sound design, an aspect that we hadn’t previously explored or fully discussed. Most importantly, feedback from our tutor provided us with useful insight into the areas of the game that may need more exploration.

We also included some of our own concept art and models, just to better portray the aesthetic and gameworld.  Sticking to the vaporwave, bright but eerie, and cyberware vibe within the moodboards we already talked about but in a more personal way.

The minigames for this concept were inspired by dispatch and HEX, both games incorporate hacking mechanics by completing in-game puzzles. In these games, the hacking is not realistic or technical, but more abstract and in a way that images players by forcing them to problem solve. This is what we aim to achieve within our own minigames, the illusion of the player doing something complicated or technical such as hacking but in a way that remains fun and doesn’t require technical knowledge. This design choice lets us add more technical themes to the game such as hacking as a mechanic that doesn’t act as a barrier for players.
