Project Goals

The goals for this project are to create an interesting game that will leave with the viewer into their day-to-day life, leaving an impression on them to try and give them a new perspective on online harassment. We want this game to be thought-provoking and impactful to try to make a change happen.

From a professional view, we want this project to showcase our skills and help develop them further, as we want this game to be pushed in our portfolio as an up-to-date presentation of our skills for further pursuit in the games industry for grad jobs.

Personal Goals

Camilla

For this project, I want to gain experience working within a team environment, as teamwork and collaboration are core aspects of the games industry. Our goal overall is to create a game that is both striking and immersive whilst respectfully portraying the sensitive topics throughout the core story.

I also want to use this opportunity to develop the skills I am already confident in: concept art, design, and marketing. These are all things I am especially passionate about. Strengthening these skills is important to me as I find them both enjoyable and interesting; they are also my main focus when thinking about a professional career.

As well as the skills I am already confident in, I aim to also build upon new skills, mostly coding. As our team consists of only the two of us and neither of us are particularly confident in programming, we have decided to share this responsibility. Giving me the chance to properly engage with coding and gain that experience in one of the most important core roles when developing a game.

This project presents me with both a creative challenge and an opportunity to learn something new. My main goal is to grow technically, creatively, in my teamwork, and also within my own personal time management.

Skills I Aim to Refine

  • Time management

  • Teamwork

  • Programming in Unity

  • 2D design

roles I will take on for this project

    • Concept artist

    • Marketing

    • Junior programmer

      Aysa

My main objective for this project is to gain experience working professionally to prepare for a grad job. I aim to produce work worthy of my portfolio to aid this process and to refine my prevalent skills whilst also learning new ones. By learning new skills, I will gain a deeper understanding of other roles within the game design pipeline, which will make my soft skills stronger.

      Skills I want to refine

      • 3D Modelling (Heavy focus on Optimisation + Texturing)

      • Programming in Unity Engine

      • Level Design (Potentially world-building as well)

By refining these, I will create a great foundation for my graduation portfolio, which will aid my future career opportunities.

What professional role I will undertake in this project

        • 3D Artist

        • Technical Programmer

        • Level Design

For this project, my main professional role will be a 3D Artist, as I will be aiming to produce a lot of 3D models and texturing them as well. A secondary role that I will undertake will be a Technical Programmer, as the game needs to work, therefore we need to program it. I will also undertake the role of Level Design, as I will be producing the environments and most likely the way the story will progress, as well as the technical side of things. These roles’ responsibilities encapsulate the skills that I intend to develop during this project, making these professional roles a good fit.
