To apply this directly, we looked at a game called Harvest 101. We are also focusing on testing our games in preparation for Week 5&#8217;s first official playtest and making the game accessible to as many audiences as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Harvest 101<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"878\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.wsagames.com\/ea3g23\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/image-22-1024x878.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2690\" style=\"width:337px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.wsagames.com\/ea3g23\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/image-22-1024x878.png 1024w, https:\/\/sites.wsagames.com\/ea3g23\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/image-22-300x257.png 300w, https:\/\/sites.wsagames.com\/ea3g23\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/image-22-768x658.png 768w, https:\/\/sites.wsagames.com\/ea3g23\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/image-22-850x729.png 850w, https:\/\/sites.wsagames.com\/ea3g23\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/image-22.png 1170w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We were told to play this game by Vanissa and it is a card-based farming simulator game where your goal is to survive the week by collecting materials and using your card to farm and gain new cards\/materials while managing the requests from villagers during random events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some of my thoughts on the game:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The game UI is very tiny, so difficult to read.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The game is a bit confusing to play, even when the tutorial was showing me what to do.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Random events are a nice change of pace and force you to make interesting decisions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I found that I was randomly moving things and just seeing what results I would get.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Therefore, the game isn&#8217;t really my thing and is not engaging to me.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I ended up stacking loads of bread because I didn&#8217;t know what to do.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Playtest preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>My Goal<\/strong>: I need to finish the draft version of Eta&#8217;s 3D model so Sam can import it into Unity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>What I want to do<\/strong>: I would like to test Sam&#8217;s prototype with the added assets that Carter has made and the changes that Sam has made to see how cohesive my model would be.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How I will do this<\/strong>: I will use the Unity version to test each version Sam puts out by pulling the origin in Github, and give him feedback in time for next week.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>What is stopping you from making the game fun<\/strong>? I think the fact that there&#8217;s no goal is making the game a bit stagnant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Thursday<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sophie recommended us a game to play: <a href=\"https:\/\/alienmelon.itch.io\/lovestory\">A_Desktop_Love_Story<\/a> and a weird art of the week (a new series in class that she has with us) that focuses on art that is weird and intriguing, which we can also use as inspiration for our games. The weird art of the week is called: <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Three_Studies_for_Figures_at_the_Base_of_a_Crucifixion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion<\/a> by Francis Bacon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Games Accessibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This is how playable the game is: modes, visuals, etc<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Limiting a game to a demographic of people is inaccessible. The only issue of note was just collision and that was only a little bit.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The second game was called <em><a href=\"https:\/\/safwannosor.itch.io\/sneaky-boi\">Sneaky Boi<\/a><\/em>. The camera was messed up and the movement was very Janky and jittery. The goal of the game was unclear to us. There were no other notable bugs.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The third and final game was called <a href=\"https:\/\/syriph.itch.io\/sprout\">Sprout<\/a>. We found the game-breaking bug almost instantly! To re-create it, pan the camera around very quickly. After you do this, the game camera suddenly lifts up and you can see all the backgrounds for the game and you cannot get back down. <br><br>We got our classmate, Guy, to try and re-create this bug without us telling him anything. He figured this out instantly as he moved the camera fast.
