User Analysis

This week, Vanissa spoke to us about the importance of Usability Expert Analysis. Essentially, evaluations of a UX/UI made using a set of design principles aimed towards creating good user experience.

Design principles that Vanissa had informed us about and were told to consider in our games were:

  • Visibility of system status 
  • Match between system and the real world 
  • User control and freedom 
  • Consistency and standards 
  • Error prevention 
  • Recognition rather that recall 
  • Flexibility and efficiency of use 

With all of this in mind, we were told to download a game called Harvest 101 on our phones and create a case study, analysing the UI and UX of the game. These were the notes and critiques I had on the game based on those design principles:
