“Those left behind” is a managerial experience focused on creating a story with meanigful choices. The player will be tasked with a navigating branching narrative that tells the story of a family that leads people through the ruined world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThose Left Behind\u201d is a post-apocalyptic, management game in which you delegate by resolving narrative conflicts and choosing narrative decisions that will shape your future. You will become a Chief Scientist<\/strong> of the Off World Project<\/strong> who was left to die with their family on a desolate planet – Earth – after completing the project. You will be faced with taking responsibility for your family and the survivors<\/strong> you choose to take in and deciding the fate of the group<\/strong> in a setting, where morality and human needs stand in opposition.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Objective<\/strong>
The player strives to choose optimal scenarios in which their family, and anyone they choose to welcome in their group, prospers and survives in a perilous world, destroyed by corporate greed and unquenched consumption. They need to balance those choices to mainatin an equilibrium in the survivors’ numbers and resources, as well as progress towards one of the available main goals – escaping, adapting or purging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post-apocaliptic, single-player management simulator that uses branching narrative of frequent choices to progress the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purpose<\/strong>
People need good stories to understand that the future holds less danger than it seems. The looming catastrophy of climate change, destruction of our natural world and numbness of corporate overlords can be a daunting prospect. This game is an exercise on compromise and survival. It should show that humans can survive, if they have a common goal and good leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This game should make the genre of management simulator more accessible for narrative-focused players. Its weight is the narrative rather than the complicated mechanics, allowing players to make breaks as they will. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
