Just like that the first week of year 2 Games Design and Art is over! It’s definitely been a bit of a nerve wracking week to say the least. Getting back into the swing of things will probably take a bit of time but that’s ok :)) As I go along this process I’m going to be coming back to this week by week section and update on activities I covered over the week and giving my own input. Completing a bare bones GDD for a completely random game<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 30\/09\/2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n To start of this activity we had to have a logline which consisted of an adjective, the genre of the game & the story world it’s set in. Here to the left you can see the one that myself and my team completed within the time we were given. It was the first ever time I had been introduced to the term GDD so it was interesting to see a simplified version which was less intimidating.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n 03\/10\/2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n On our Thursday session we looked at experiential metaphor state of play where we chose a metaphorical phrase and turned into a game. To the left is the idea that myself and my group came up with.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n Towards the end of our Thursday lesson we looked at ‘Empathy games’ where we came up with our own personal ideas which were later made into a paper prototype.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n 04\/10\/2024 Just like that the first week of year 2 Games Design and Art is over!
