This week focused on the preparations towards our presentation. On Monday, we talked about our approach to marketing our game and presenting it to a wide audience. This is very important in the case of Backchat since we are tackling a difficult theme. We needed to consider how to present our game and explain the mechanism of the sensory overload and barriers in social interactions without stigmatizing those who have ASD. We spent time working on our presentation strategy and finding the best way to quickly introduce players to falling leaves and sentence fragment mechanics. On Thursday, we started to troubleshoot issues that can arise during our presentation. In preparation for receiving critical feedback from an audience, we need to make sure that our vertical slice of our game is as stable as possible. This is why we spent a great deal of time fixing minor bugs, tweaking the user interface, and smoothing out the conversation with Tyler.
