Bea<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She works at Kwalee &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company creates numerous games from puzzle sudoku games to the precinct which is like a police simulator game<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She&#8217;s a game designer that is in charge of management and design aspects &#8211;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Design &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Documentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feedback<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Level design\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Etc etc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Management &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Graduates\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mange Training program\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Started talking about jobs in the industry &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She opened the floor to us and asked us about what roles are in game development &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We came back with 3D artist, programmer, concept artist, QA tester, Sound design&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She then explained what jobs are out there and just brief explanation on each of them&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She talked about that AAA is not the only way to go, there are indies, mobile games is massive, web games are kicking off, board games exist<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also mentioned transferable skills, people start in QA and move across to other departments<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She then once talked about how Uni prepared her for the industry ,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From working on a range of different roles, documentation through the GDD, Teamwork, Coding basics, job opportunities, Kick started the portfolio<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As she hired graduates she talked about what she looks for when she hires us,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>portfolios , showing of specific projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Self products<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Designs for unmade games<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also went on to talk about the importance of CV, making sure to list certain things and what to avoid, in addition she talked about interviews and how they are more about you and your fit in the company&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, she then said to make sure to research the company, what they make, how the game play, etc&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Week 4 &#8211;
