As such the majority of people voted for me to continue with game idea 2 which was the digitisted book as they could see the potential in the game and shared their stories as to how they struggled with learning textbooks during school.

Reflection:

The feedback in general highlighted which game concept had potential and which one seemed to be overcomplicated. Whilst the prototypes help to visualise the gameplay, and proved technical feasibility.

Due to the lack of depth in the prototypes I couldn’t get feedback on user testing but considering the feedback I received for game idea 2 it eliminated this problem as everyone has had to study from a textbook and I could hear their feedback and opinions as to how I could develop this into an effective educational tool.

This led me to realize that I had strong conceptual work but not enough execution depth to showcase the concepts. I need to spend more time iterating instead of developing more concepts.

What surprised me was that my peers were more supportive of my game idea 2 educational concept over my abstract game idea 1 experience.

Phase 3 overall reflection:

I’ve developed my systematic visual identity research by researching 9 art styles, I’ve critically analyzed similar games in my genre (BBC Bitezize), ive rapidly created 3 Unity prototypes, ive also ethically considered my games framework

The main weakness of this phase was making changes to my games concept later in the phase which led to underdeveloped prototypes which meant my feedback was on the concepts not the games mechanics/systems.

This made me realise that the gap between a good concept and a submittable project is predominantly execution depth not idea quantity. To develop the best game I can I need to sustain iteration cycles based on testing from playtesters, no multiple proof of concept prototypes. This realization reshaped how I will be developing my final major project.

Reflection & Feedback Phase 3: reflection & feedback Presentation: What i presented: Reflection: Phase 3 overall reflection:

[20

post-355","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-p3
["GET
