Core Gameplay
Core Loop
Players would start exploring first.
Exploring eventually ends with finding an NPC or puzzle.
The player will interact with the NPC and complete a quest or the puzzle to complete.
When the quest is completed, the player will receive a reward and be able to continue exploring the map. If the puzzle is completed, it opens up more of the map.
Find safe zones/checkpoints.
Second-to-second game loops would include the attack patterns as they are rapidly repeated in a short period of time whilst engaged in combat.

Systems
The player is able to use items to get items in return. If the player was to pick up an object and give it to an NPC, there is a chance that the player gains something in return, almost like a trade. One example from the game is that if the player drops a snake that they have killed next to Nala (NPC that will be explained that on), she has a chance of giving the player food, which can temporarily increase the players endurance bar.
Missions also do this. Early missions give you food and experience. The experience when filled up enough times allows the player to chose one of the following options.
– +1 health point
– +1 strength point
– +1 endurance point Their health caps at 9 hearts/paws. At the beginning of the game, their health starts at 3. Every time they get hurt, they lose a heart.
Their strength also caps (haven’t figured out what each strength point is worth and how much extra damage it does).
Their endurance caps (same with the strength, not figured out details yet).
