My main character is going to be a young, black cat. So, I went out and made mood boards of black cats for reference.

Mood board + sketches I did in my sketchbook. The ones with the star/diamond next to them means that I really liked how it turned out.
This was me practicing drawing cats in different poses. I was trying to find a style that I’d liked and trying to replicate the ones that I put stars next to.

My Grandma has a fox that comes into her garden every once in a while. She puts food scraps out for it to have whenever it comes by. This video was from a a year or so ago. It was awesome seeing a fox so close.

This was me feeding the fox a bit of cooked sausage. It took a couple of minutes for the fox to warm up to me enough, but when it did, it took the food out of my hand very gently. I’ve always loved foxes, so it was an awesome experience.

I liked these drawings of foxes.

I found using simple shapes helpful when it came to designing the characters. it also seemed to fit with the style of the game anyway.
