“Fathers and Sons” by Ivan Turgenev. In his work, the author not only addresses the issue of the clash between two opposing generations but also attempts to find a solution, to point out a way out of the current situation. The confrontation between the two camps can be seen as a struggle between the old and the new, radicals and liberals, democracy and aristocracy, determination and confusion. This work clearly explores the generation gap conflict, which is why it was used as the central inspiration for the entire GDD.
“A Hero of Our Time” novel by Mikhail Lermontov. About an exceptional individual who suffers and brings suffering to others. Lermontov’s Pechorin, as the author’s preface states, is a composite image, “a portrait composed of the vices of our entire generation, in their full development.” Such a hero is presented in every generation, and their depiction can be used as possible inspiration for Son’s characteristic traits.

“What Remains of Edith Finch” – a unique game experience in my memories. The game isn’t highly interactive, but storytelling and well thought Level Design crates a whole new level of immersion. The way it provokes empathy in players, and having a non-conventional, attractive game market drama setting is truly eye catchy.

Albert Mielgo -probably the most favourite modern artist for me.
It is difficult to characterize his work as something specific in terms of scripts. Scenarios can be different – from the simple routine of city residents to an abusive relationship between a spirit and a deaf knight.
What clearly distinguished his work? Disregard of many principles of animation. No plasticity, no permanent use of layouts, and direct phased motion in composition. Motions of his characters are heavy, down-to-earth, and more like something that was filmed and then transferred to animation.
But his style is just a magic mix of 3D and 2D.Maybe his style is a bit dirty or overloaded – but the down-to-earth designs together with a sharp leap into fantasy will remain for me a long standard of what I want to see in my own games.

Generational conflict and the concept of art conservation go beyond the art concept. Psychology and Science also take an important part in research, so I collected a small resource list of materials I read:
