The first step of the ideation process was to come up with four starting topics for the research process. By the end of this two-week research phase we are to present all four in a quick-fire format to the class to assess interest and get feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workshops<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first part of the workshop was using some emotional prompts to generate ideas, such as what makes us laugh, cry, etc. These lead to some interesting ideas but nothing yet that I could really glean research concepts from (a lot were joke prompts as getting people to be emotionally vulnerable in the morning proved to be difficult.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, some of the ideas for “things you find interesting” did lead to some interesting topics that I could definitely use, such as astronomy, philosophy and cultural gentrification in the digital age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second task was finding topics using the Lotus Blossom<\/a> technique, essentially like a mind map of words related to other words, and myself and my partners in the class found this very useful to discover potentially interesting topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takeaways<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My main takeaway from this class was some beginning topics to consider as a result of the lotus blossom technique, such as crystals or geology, or perhaps even survival techniques.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
