Even though the story details are a loose combination of historical records, changed narratives, and the distortions of hundreds of storytellers, their influence is deeply ingrained in our culture.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2\">What is creation myths?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-3 wp-block-paragraph\">Creation myth is stories that explains how people interpret the worlds creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4\">But why are they even important?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Creation myths were the earliest human philosophies. The purpose of these stories was to continue answering questions like &#8220;where did we originate from? &#8220;Why are we here?&#8221; It was a means of answer these questions in the past, and these tales explain what can&#8217;t be explained. The sky was Ymir&#8217;s skull, the sea was his blood, and the rocks were his bones.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8 is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Yoruba (Nigeria) creation myth <\/summary>\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-9 wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 The gods were living happily in the sky at the beginning, and there was nothing but water below them.                                            <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-10 wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 It was time for the Supreme Being, Olodumare, to take action and create the earth.                                                                                    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-11 wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 The god of wisdom and purity, Obatala, received from him a palm nut, a snail shell containing sand, a five-toed chicken (as ordinary chickens were evidently too simple), and a golden chain.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-12 wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 Ol\u00f3d\u00f9m\u00e1r\u00e8 gave him the responsibility of going down and making land with these things. Heading\u00a0to the edge of the sky, Ob\u00e0t\u00e1l\u00e1 was ready to begin to work.                                                        <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-13 wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 Then he saw a banquet being thrown by other gods. He paused to say hello. Obatala eventually passed out after drinking a bit too much palm wine.                                                                                           <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-14 wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 With the chameleon by his side, Oduduwa, Obatala&#8217;s younger brother, took matters into his own hands after witnessing his sibling being\u00a0asleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-15 wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 After grabbing the holy objects, he got the golden chain and found the fragment of earth below. When he came to the surface, Oduduwa let the five-toed chicken go and dumped the sand from the snail shell onto the sea. The chicken began scratching at the sand, spreading it widely, as chickens are known to do.                     <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-16 wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 According to the myth, is how dry land was formed, and the first piece of land was called Il\u00e9-If\u00e8, which remains a sacred city for the Yoruba people.                                                                                               <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-17 wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 By the time Obatala woke up from his unplanned nap, it was too late, Oduduwa had already finished the job. Hence, he was hailed as the founder of the Yoruba race.                                                            <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background-color has-primary-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-18 wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 Obatala, feeling guilty and determined to redeem himself, took on another important task. He became the sculptor of humanity, molding the first humans out of clay. After that, the gods begged Brahma to create people so that they may worship and serve them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2726 The first people were made by Brahma, but they were flawed and lacking wisdom. He later goes through more hardships and loses his mentor and wife when she plunges into the sea to please the Sea God. He offends a local deity on the way home, and as a result, he contracts an illness and nearly perishes. But after visiting a well-known volcanic spring, he recovers over a few days. At the end of his quest, he credits The Sun Goddess Amaterasu with his success. The Disney rendition of Hua Mulan is very different from the genuine one. Her older stories tend to be brief and poetic in nature. They praised Hua Mulan&#8217;s beauty and her fighting ability. The emperor recognised her for her achievements, she served for twelve or thirteen years without her womanhood ever being revealed, and she replaced her father in combat. Although there are numerous possible outcomes for Hua Mulan&#8217;s endings, they all appear to include suicide. According to one story, the emperor offers her a position in his harem since he is enamoured with her and her fighting skills.
