This week, Yushan added transition animations between each scene, making the transitions between scenes smoother.

This week, I created a flipbook in Unreal Engine 5 using every frame of the animation Lee provided for my character, and added it to the NPC’s Blueprint, transforming the NPCs into 2D characters with walking animations. This has enabled 2D characters within a 3D scene.

Other work:

This week, I also optimised the blueprints and UI system I had previously written:

  • I’ve used the typewriter display effect I created previously and added the player’s entrance dialogue.

  • Lee gave me all the NPC animations, and I added all the NPCs to the scene using the flipbook animation method I’d created earlier.

  • I have written a construction script for the item blueprint to ensure that all pick-upable items in the scene share a single blueprint but use different appearances.

    Derry：

This week, Derry completed the modelling of some of the items in the supermarket. These include:

    • Products from 10 supermarkets (Milk, Crisps, Bread, Ham, Cereal, Patatos, Banana, Teddy bear and Plant)

    • Merchandiser

At school, Derry and Yushan used the assets they had completed this week to set up a hypermarket scene.

      Junhwan Lee:

This week, Lee finished animating the final five female NPC characters. He also completed the dialogue for the five female NPC characters.

Zixuan finished the poster for the playtest event on Friday this week.
