Its about where it all beging
Initially, we were captivated by this storys potential as a detective game concept. When collaborating with surui to develop the narrative, we created digital sketches of the original text through photographic references. This approach allowed us to continuously update our drafts while traveling home, ensuring our creative process remained fluid and grounded in real-world inspiration.

But in todays game market, there seems to be a lot of games with similar stories, so we decided to make a big change to the story, keeping the original character relationships, and making the story more weird and confusing.

This is the idea and character relationship we (Youth and Surui) made on the bus on our way home. Because we are both Chinese, we wrote it in Chinese. I am sorry for any reading problems caused by this. I will give a general translation, hoping that it will not cause any reading problems.
translate :
Laura ——. Henry (second marriage?) (ex-husband?)
Rose- Roses husband?
Jade
Laura and Henrys honeymoon-maybe by the sea?
motive :
- It could be a lack of love
- Mother left Rose alone, leaving her to face Lauras ex-husband Steve
- Being beaten and scolded as a child caused psychological abnormalities
- He was better after Laura took him away
- Laura went on her honeymoon without telling Rose
- After being abandoned last time, Rose developed PTSD after her mothers death. So she decided to kill her mother and hide Laura so that she would feel at ease and no longer sad.
modus operandi :
1. Since Rose had lived with Steve during her childhood, she knew the hotel had a basement. It was her secret base where she used to hide from Steves beatings as a child. Later, she also thought this could protect her mother from letting her leave, so she locked Laura in the basement.
2. The portrait of Oedipus will be displayed in the hotel, which is also meant to suggest that the case is related to Rose and Laura.
Tip: Oedipus, a male figure in European literary history, epitomizes the classic fate tragedy archetype. As the son of King Laius and Queen Jocasta of Thebes in Greek mythology, he unknowingly murdered his father and married his mother. Sophocles, hailed as “the Homer of dramatic arts” and “master of fate tragedies,” elevated this tragic motif through his ancient Greek play *Oedipus Rex*.
- The final twist: Laura actually died by suicide.
