This week is the final submission week, and my job is to compile all our group’s achievements and processes onto our group website. I’m very happy that Maria and Nam are helping me with the weekly blog section, as some group discussions revolved around their new ideas about mechanics, making their writing clearer and more concise. I reviewed what we did each week since the start of production, noting on the whiteboard what we did each week, created our group roadmap, and added it to the development section.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Then I wrote a new main introduction to the game and categorized the game’s presentation into four sections, corresponding to the main responsibilities of each of us four.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Next is the research section, where I included the points raised by the three of us during group discussions. For more detailed individual research, I provided links to our individual blogs. Then, based on the process I requested from them, I edited the ‘Backchat’ section, detailing the changes in mechanics and the thought process during development.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Regarding the mechanics section of this group website, I combined the mechanics we ultimately developed and tested with those not included in the Vertical Slice but which we hope will be included in the full game. Because Fiona, who was in charge of the mechanics, was consistently absent from our discussions, both online and offline, we couldn’t synchronize information. Therefore, the three of us took on a significant portion of her work in the early and middle stages.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Overall, I think we did a great job overall. Misunderstandings and differing viewpoints often arose during group discussions due to language barriers, but these were all resolved effectively. This group collaboration, from initial confusion to increasingly seamless teamwork and familiarity, allowed me to discover the joy of teamwork. The feeling of working together to create a game was actually quite good, and it also indirectly improved my communication and listening skills. It aligned with our initial keywords for the group: ‘Friendly’ and ‘Communicate.’ It was a fulfilling semester where I learned a lot and challenged myself in areas where I wasn’t strong.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
