This week was mainly focused on formal feedback, as well as team meetings to confirm the modifications, additions, and supplements we need to make after the game testing.
First, there was a team meeting this week where we finalized the content that needs to be added to the next game test. This includes the opening story, background music, player tutorials, new dialogue box designs, and an inventory system, among other things.
My responsibilities include adding background music, designing the player guide, designing the inventory system, explaining how to use inventory items, designing the settings interface, and creating animations for obtaining items.
The more difficult parts for me are probably the inventory system and the item acquisition animations. I’ve never worked on these before, so I’m unsure how long it will take. The settings interface and player control guide interface should be similar to the main menu UI, and since I have some experience with them, they shouldn’t be too difficult for me.
Formative Feedback
In the feedback section, I noticed many areas where I could improve. After summarizing Vanissa’s suggestions, I realized many revolved around areas where I could elaborate more, such as analyzing other games’ UIs by dividing them into different sections for annotation, and documenting each test I conducted after completing my code. Surprisingly, while my critical reflection wasn’t quite sufficient, I actually achieved my goal, and I will continue to work on this area further.
