I plan to categorize the keywords to gradually clarify my thoughts.

I divided them into two categories: gameplay and content. Then I realized that I wanted the content to still be about emotions, but unlike the scrapped drafts, I wasn’t fixated on the emotion of pride. Instead, I wanted players to experience the full range of emotions and gradually understand their own. As for the gameplay, I preferred to make it a puzzle game, because that would fit better with the emotional content.

| Content and ideas

Show different emotions

Different stories evoke different emotions.

Multiple levels

| Basic idea

Based on the different narrative styles I learned in class, I came up with several different ideas. Both ideas are similar to the initial draft but not entirely the same. The first idea involves a core emotion as the main theme, but it’s not entirely the same. The core of this idea is to consider whether something seemingly reasonable is right after experiencing the different emotions and feelings of other characters. The second idea is to use AI to guide the emotional experience. The difference is that this idea involves the AI itself continuously understanding emotions, and it doesn’t focus on just one emotion, but rather on understanding as many emotions as possible.

Idea 1:

I want to try a game where players take on the role of someone who has lost their memory and completes tasks guided by an AI assistant. As players complete these tasks, they gradually become aware of changes in the atmosphere and environment. Through interactions with others during the tasks, they get a better understanding of emotions, begin to question the irrationality of the tasks, and eventually develop their own thoughts. At this point, players can decide whether to accept the AI assistant’s tasks as reasonable and necessary and continue, or to decide that the AI assistant’s tasks are wrong and decide to explore the world independently, no longer following the AI assistant’s instructions. (The tasks given by the AI assistant are similar to the trolley problem; the algorithm often determines that a minority must be sacrificed to save the majority.)

Idea 2:

Players will take on the role of an AI that is curious about human emotions, and chooses to experience different stories representing various emotions through virtual reality. They will solve puzzles within each story, attempting to discover the power inherent in human emotions.

| Feedback from friends

Because these two ideas are quite different, I asked my friends and family for their opinions and did a simple survey.

I initially thought the first idea would receive more support because it could depict details in greater detail and was more likely to evoke emotional resonance.

But a friend enlightened me; his answer was, “If you want players to experience the power of emotions, it would be better to let them see the different powers of all emotions.”

This inspiration, combined with the voting results, led me to ultimately choose the second idea as the basis for starting over.

| Conceptual direction Initially, I planned to first determine the type of game I wanted to create, but since it was the beginning of a replay, my mind was stuck on the previous idea, so I decided to use the keyword “movement” that I used in class as a starting point to create the mind […]

[27

post-283","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-development
["GET
