Last week, I completed the planned additions. Because I wanted to free up some time in case of unforeseen circumstances, I finished everything that could be completed last week. This included the settings interface, player operation guide, inventory, item acquisition, dragging items from the inventory to the map for interaction, options for players to obtain hoops and Beatrice dialogue, and animations for acquiring items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, I confirmed what we still needed and planned to complete the content required for the second game test by Wednesday and send it to my team members. Currently, we are missing: every part of the camera, backpack icons, a new game background, and backgrounds for the dialogue boxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week’s classes focused more on game art, which didn’t offer much direct help to my overall direction, but it did provide some insights into game production. This lesson made me realize that art design in game design needs to have established standards, because games are, after all, mechanical entities, which imposes many limitations on art design. Not all designs can be implemented, and this is where communication becomes crucial, which is something our group has been focusing on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the game test on Thursday, I received all the resources except for the game background. In order to test our game more completely, I decided to start implementing our plan B. Since I also have some drawing skills, after obtaining Jess’s permission, I added some sketches to the game background she had drawn to accommodate our newly added game content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, since all team members were assigned specific tasks, I decided to take on the responsibility of drawing the icons needed for the game, including the icons required for the tutorial interface, as well as some icons that are currently missing from the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
