After our first hand in , I got to work on the handicraft x hair braiding x nature world that I have been talking about for a long time. I have done server concept art as a testing of our world and can’t wait to finish the environment
The whole document (research and outcome) of the environment:
I did not expect I would spend this much time and effort on this art, as I have been making sure every element I drew is inspired by handcraft, hair braiding and nature. This made me could not finish the whole design on time but I have some sketches for Esi to embed into the game as experiment. I need work faster in order to keep us on track.

Before we start making the game, Esi and I planned to work on the programming together. After finding out art could be really time consuming, I was afraid this would make our team off track. I talked to Esi about my concern, we decided to let me focus on making art and music instead, she thought one person focusing on one specific role would more efficient. Like I am making 2D art and music, Esi is making 3D art and programming

Withdrawing my programmer role, does not mean I am going to work less and let my teammate responsible for everything! I am still trying to help with unity and always willing to help.
My attempt of using unity – back ground embedding:
First attempt: failed, the background was not showing

Second attempt: Better, at least the background was there, but the image was compressed

Solution: Rearrange the size of canvas
From 2732 x 2048 (iPad size) to 1280 x 720 (unity size)

Succeeded on third attempt! I forgot to screenshot it at that time but that’s how the main menu look like

Reflection: I definitely need to work on time management,
- Figure out what should I spend more time on and what should not
- Need to move on to next development even the one I am working on is not yet completed. I can always go back on finishing with it, but it would be frustrating for not providing anything at the moment for my teammate to test with.
- Learn to give up on things that are not “too perfect” when we do not have enough time
