After doing research into 4 topics – being Stars, Gambling, Alchemy and Religious Psychosis – we were tasked with presenting our findings to the class in an 8 minute presentation. This was my presentation:
Honestly, I’m not great at public speaking and I did stutter a lot during my presentation – However, I found that planning out the general gist of what I had to say on each slide definitely helped out.
One thing I want to improve on is adding less information on the slides and being able to speak more instead of just reading off of the slides themselves. But, other than that, I think it went well and I got my ideas across.
During presentations, we were tasked with writing notes for presenters. These were the notes that my peers wrote for me:

Other than the obvious troll notes 😭, the common consensus was that the ‘Star’ topic was the most interesting out of the three.
I was tempted to move forwards with gambling as my concept, but I felt that ‘Stars’ as a concept was more fruitful (as a topic to create a game from) and interesting – to actually spend the next few months extracting for my final major project.
I also wrote some of my thoughts down for certain comments I got about my presentation:
“Were there stories made from the stars?”
There are definitely constellations that are given meanings and stories by certain cultures, perhaps I should look into some of these cultures and the meanings behind them.
“Using stars as navigational aids, depending on the location you are in”
The sky you see is definitely effected by where you are in the world, maybe I could use this concept to effect how astronavigation could work in my game.
