MONDAY

It was here a huge wrench got thrown into our plan. Our smaller module, Professional Contexts, was due in the next Monday, of which we both had yet to write our essay for. So instead of what we wrote on Miro, we decided to take this week off to focus on the other module, and prepare for the Southampton presentation as best we could… Also scheduled on that Monday.

So I spent my time on Monday outlining what I would write in my reflective essay, as well as finishing up/formatting my notes for each guest speaker.

TUESDAY

Now I had my outline, I started researching for my essay, as it was one of the learning outcomes to back up our understanding of the industry with secondary research. I wanted to get statistics from the most reliable sources possible, which is difficult to navigate on the web. I also started a first draft, starting with introduction and networking, since those were the parts I was most clear on.

THURSDAY

By Thursday I planned to finish the essay, writing up about portfolios, interviews, the industry, and where I personally think I’ve gone wrong previously in trying to make myself more professionally “out there”, as well as a conclusion and my sources. It was a pretty heavy day of writing.

FRIDAY

I used Friday to prepare for the Southampton presentation with Josh, which is work that extended over the weekend as well. I reused my old presentation for my 3 prototypes, as I liked the format, wanted to keep some cohesion, and the information already on there felt fairly fine to reuse for the music student’s clarity. The additional slides delved into what we thought the music, ambience, UI, and sound effects would be like, with provided examples in case the students didn’t understand what we were referencing. I think it turned out looking pretty good!
