Promoting a video game on social media is one of the most important parts of modern game development, because even a strong game can easily go unnoticed if people don’t hear about it. By creating TikToks, uploading a YouTube trailer, and sharing development updates on LinkedIn, I’ve started building awareness and reaching different types of audiences. Social media doesn’t just help attract players, it also helps build a community around the game before release, creating early interest, feedback, and long-term support.

TikTok

TikTok is a fast-paced, highly visual platform that is especially popular with younger audiences and many players. It allows me to share short, engaging clips of gameplay and development updates that can quickly reach a wide audience and generate interest in the project.

YouTube

YouTube provides a space to present the game in a more cinematic and detailed way. Unlike short-form content, it allows me to showcase atmosphere, gameplay, and story elements in a more immersive trailer format, giving potential players a clearer sense of the game’s tone and experience.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is used to share the more professional side of development. It allows me to connect with other developers and potentially reach people within the games industry, helping to showcase my skills and increase future career opportunities within studios.

Website

Indiana is also hosting Dog Eat Dog on its own dedicated website, which all of the social platforms direct towards. This acts as a central hub for the project, giving interested players a place to learn more, follow updates, and hopefully download or engage with the game itself.
