Week 2 – Refining My Ideas

By this time, we should have four themes we want to research. And after quite a bit of back and forth, I decided on:

  • Tarot & astrology
  • Childhood diary
  • 19th-century opera ballet
  • Hanahaki disease

After sharing our themes with the class and discussing ways to research (e.g. going to the library, visiting a museum, etc.), we got into pairs and began deep diving into our chosen topic.

Systems

A system in a game is defined by a group of objects, their properties, behaviours and how these game objects interact with each other.

We were given the topic moustaches as an example. Some of the systems in this theme would be: grooming, history, culture, etc.

We were then tasked to think about systems in the context of our themes:

Blackout Poetry

For our last task, we created blackout poetry from articles to summarise the UN sustainability goals. Blackout poetry/erasure poetry is made by ‘blacking out’ words from existing text to highlight single words or certain phrases to create new meaning. We were challenged to make the poems more abstract.

Institutions of fear forms violence, conflict, insecurity and threats to the people

One deprived of identity often amplify Governments violence, corruption and participation

Freedom in private and in public, recorded disappearances of human rights and without threaten the foundation of peaceful societies, all countries. Even the world and home.
