The key takeaway from my formative feedback session was: create and document anything that will drive my project forward.

I was shown some games that included cards and had pretty straightforward UI. Both Reigns: Her Majesty and Democratic Socialism Simulator use a swipe (left or right) mechanic on the cards, which makes the games not only easier to learn but also more accessible to platforms other than just PC. I was leaning more towards making a point-and-click adventure game, but these games had me considering other branches I could look into.

During the session, I showed some of my moodboards on Pinterest that inspired ideas for the look and atmosphere of my game. I made sure to remember to add this to my documentation. Furthermore, I was told to look into the already existing market for games in this genre. Researching what has already been done will not only help identify where there is a gap, but also how to make your game unexpected. After identifying or coming up with a potential game idea, it was suggested that I make a prototype to test.
