Verbs

List of verbs associated with this game’s themes:

  • Building
  • Upgrading
  • Destroying

Rules

The player can place down and build rides within their budget. They can also upgrade rides depending on if they have the XP for that ride. The robots have health points which causes them to be destroyed if they fall to zero.

Win and fail states

The player wins the current level if they manage to successfully destroy all robots that spawn within the game’s waves. The player loses if the robots invade the base enough to drop the player’s health to 0.

Inventory/Economic/Combat Systems

The player will be given a budget at the beginning of each level. The budget increases as the player progresses through the game to accommodate new rides and harder enemies. When the player destroys a robot, they gain money as well as XP which they can use to upgrade rides.

Physics

The game makes use of Unity’s 2D physics system to replicate theme park ride movements and how they could be used for my game. For example, the Devil’s Wheel has a spinning ball. The aim is to replicate ride movements within the 2D environment.
