Formative Feedback
On Thursday, I attended a formative feedback meeting, which was of great help to me. It helped me point out the shortcomings in the current project and identify the areas that need further improvement. Based on these feedbacks, I began to critically reflect on my work and identified the following key areas that need improvement:
- Clarify differentiation
Explain more clearly what the substantial differences are between my horror game and the existing ones. - Give priority to building a worldview.
First, strengthen the construction of the worldview to ensure that the world has a clear internal logic - Define player identities and visual rulesClarify the identity of the player character and establish consistent visual rules (appearance, clothing, color palette, etc.).
- Lock the core game loop
Confirm the core game loop and consider how failure/death operates within it (rules, consequences, and progress). - Strengthen the research foundation
Conduct a more systematic study on the influencing factors of design.
Based on the feedback and discussions with peers, I have decided to change the theme of the project as a strategic step to more effectively address the identified design and research issues.
