Presenting my concepts was quite eye opening for how well thought out my concepts really were. Whilst they were quite detailed, I really struggled with the ‘elevator pitch’ side of the research. Lots of what I wanted my games to do and feel like was quite bulky and I stuggled to really get what I wanted my games to feel like to come across.
Some of my peers did resonate with the idea, but people were still really reluctant to get on board with my concepts. Some of the feedback I recieved was ‘The concepts look good visually, but the game loop is lacking’. This really refelected what I was specialising in and the aspect of the course that I, personally, enjoy the most, art creation.
Because of this I really needed to put some more effort and time into developing the games gameplay loop before progressing with anything substantial. Or, if applicable, I could decide to leave my ideas for another time and work on another team/concept.
