All of the topics I researched for this PHASE are in this power point, and I explained to the class all of the takeaways I gained as well as some ideas. I got a lot of suggestions and comments from the teacher and my classmates, and this presentation helped me a lot.

Also here are some valuable suggestions and comments from teachers as well as classmates that were very helpful to me in moving on to the beginning of the next PHASE, and helped me in choosing the topic after that.

Reflection
Phase 1 was the most exploratory and discrete phase of the whole project. During this phase, I gradually learnt about the way I react to different concepts and the differences these concepts bring about on a visual and sensory level through the use of keywords.
By sorting through the keywords “ chase”, “surrealism”, “puzzle” and ‘intuition ‘ , I began to realise that what really matters is the way the keywords are understood. Some words would naturally lead me to focus on movement and direction, while others would make me focus more on spatial relationships, structure or overall atmosphere. As I sorted through the images and words, this difference became clearer and clearer.
At this stage, I was making judgements more through intuition than complex analysis. For example, when collecting and organising material, I would quickly realise which keywords were easier for me to relate to and which needed to be deliberately interpreted. The first phase also made me realise that exploring concepts does not have to translate immediately into concrete results. Instead, by unpacking, comparing and reflecting on the keywords, I mainly think about the question of whether the keyword is suitable for deeper development.
Looking back at the entire first phase, I found myself favouring keywords that could be understood through feeling, atmosphere or overall impression, rather than concepts that relied entirely on rules or clear goals. This discovery was not a pre-determined result, but developed gradually through repeated collations and comparisons.
Overall, the value of the first stage was to help me narrow down my direction and lay the foundation for the subsequent stages. Before moving on to the next stage, I have a clearer picture of my focus and how I should take the next step to move from conceptual exploration to more concrete development.
