ROOM-9 is a 2D escape puzzle-type game centred on spatial judgement and intuitive decision-making. Players will progress through a seemingly ever-extending corridor and enter closed rooms, each containing a challenge that needs to be quickly understood and dealt with. During the course of the game, the player is not given very complete information or clear guidance, but is required to make judgements under pressure and uncertainty.
The project attempts to create a state of being between hesitation and action for the player through spatial layout, mechanical constraints, and pacing control. The player’s process of understanding this game will gradually build up after trying, failing and repeating. I also hope to keep investigating the problem of intuition through this game.
