Presenting Our Topics
On Monday, we all presented our findings over the course of 2 weeks. In all honesty, I was so nervous to present. Generally, I will try to keep quiet and not talk in class if I can help it, but this lesson really helped me improve my presentation skills and my body language. I managed to pace myself really well, spoke coherently and managed to still have a minute left.
Feedback:

There were so many great presentations that I listened to on this day and so many interesting topics that were voiced and articulated well by my peers.
After our presentations, Adam told us that we needed to pick out our own favourite topic to look into deeper and re-present it to the class in 2 weeks time. As it was such short notice, I was stuck between either the Salem witch trials or parasocial relationships as I think both of them have good game potential. Adam then gave us 30 minutes to talk about our topics with our peers and by the end of the conversation I had, I was certain with parasocial relationships. This is because I get so fascinated by how parasocial relationships even form in the first place and the psychology behind it.

Here are some screenshots of what was happening in Ross’ lesson. Unity was quite hard for me to understand, but I still had a go at it.

Thoughts and takeaways
Presenting helped me build my confidence, in fact, I’m sure that doing this exercise helped me get over my fear of sharing ideas. Truthfully, although I am quite an energetic person, I do have a hard time sharing ideas sometimes, I think it comes from a place of insecurity, but doing this presentation helped me a lot. Listening to other people’s presentations also inspired mw. It was encouraging to see how other people may approach their research.
For this week:
- In week 5, we will be doing another presentation, this time we will be choosing just one idea to do further research on. By the end of Monday, I chose to look further on parasocial relationships, as it’s something that interests me
- Do a brainstorm of what topics I could look further into
