Presenting! (again)
On Monday, we presented our specialised theme, I have chosen to look into parasocial relationships as I’m passionate about the cultural differences between the West and East Asian countries and their approach to this subject.
Feedback:
As I was first, I didn’t get that much feedback. Over reading week, I may ask Adam to give me a slot after lunch and before our second break to optimise feedback.
However, I had received plenty of great suggestions for the concepts I could make for the next presentation. One of the comments that were left stood out to me – “could play as an idol trying to hide from or avoid fans“, I thought that was an interesting comment to make especially when some East Asian fans typically go crazy in idol culture. Another comment that stood out to me was – “consider what obsession does to your brain” I could possibly develop this further into a concept where a streamer is obsessed with gaining popularity but parasocial pressure also affects them?
(I did later develop these comments into concepts for my next presentation called : devotion curator + GO LIVE)
For next week:
- Start to seriously think about prototyping, start early since I don’t have that much experience in the technical aspects of design. This could slow me down, so just be mindful of time.
- Before any prototyping, make sure that I produce a brain storm that have very distinctive ideas.
- I’ll have until week 9
