Week 11: 8th Dec: Present 1 Game (Southampton John Hansard Gallery / Music
This was our final presentation for the semester. We visited the Southampton John Hansard Gallery, with the intention of finding music students who were interested in collaborating. In addition to showing everyone which game concept they’d take for semester 2, I chose game idea 3 since I found it to be the most interesting and engaging compared to my other game ideas.
For my presentation, I created a slide that included my art, YouTube links, the main goal/core idea of my game concept, and different mood boards for each character. I used lots of visual materials to demonstrate the art style I was going for, as well as audio links, to help the music student understand what I was looking for rather than just describing the audio.
I’ve always been shy about presenting, but presenting in front of my classmates and other students has helped me gain confidence and improve my communication abilities. I also received feedback from the crowd. Overall, I feel that this presentation has helped me reflect on my concept and how I may improve my presentation skills for future projects.
