Why I chose the era :
- I liked the fashion ball gowns, literature, especially the poems and plays. I was interested in ball gowns because of how gowns were designed to signify hierarchy/status.
- I like the literature in theatre plays because of the love poems and how they were written to have such a deep meaning. While I don’t understand some words written in those letters, I was still moved by how they wrote with conviction/determination to profess their love. It’s something you don’t really see in the modern day….For plays, I was interested in mainly Shakespeare plays (Romeo and Juliet), how the ending was them dying or being unable to live without each other, again with the topic of love and yearning for one another.
