Game title: [Undecided]
Genre: Casual game, horror, psychology, interactive story, adventure, dark, creepycute.
Platform: PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One,
Core concept: The core game concept will revolve around a generational blessing (the power of fate) being passed down to the current generation, which includes the player character (Rudy). However, Rudy doesn’t want to inherit the power and believes it does more harm than good to the family; he must decide whether to follow the predestined fate his proud family has taught him since he was a child or to go against his family and be perceived as ‘selfish’. His goal is to discover the actual story about the ‘blessing’.
Goal Idea: This game idea uses quick-time event choices to explore real-life pressures in some families and the emotional impact of generational trauma. Mainly depicted through dialogue choices given to the player, which is why I want to have multiple endings and different scenarios. The key highlight will be the social and ethical aspects of the game because I wanted to continue pushing players to consider the repercussions of their choices.
Target audience: The game will likely include violence, strong language, and some mature scenes; therefore, I believe my target audience should be adults.
Essential experience: The players should feel sympathy, confusion and moral dilemmas caused by dialogue choices and quick-time events (QTEs) during action sequences. Players will be continuously confronted with moral choices, which blur the boundary between good and wrong and make them feel accountable for the consequences. The player’s experience may differ based on the sort of platform they use during gameplay.
Visual Style: I wanted it to be brightly coloured with mainly purple, orange and blue hues and have the characters look more cartoony rather than realistic. The one dark colour I’d want is for the player’s character to show that he doesn’t ‘fit’ in with his other heroic family members.
