
My third prototype, Pusher, is a rhythm survival game where you draw in crowds of ravers to protect yourself from enemies and is the project I eventually chose to develop further for my Project Proposal. It can be read more about in that linked document.
The initial idea came from a discussion with my father where he compared a rave to a swarm of bees, with the queen at the center. Combining this with ideas from my 90s Rave Culture Research where DJ’s at the time described police raids and having to scatter made a game where one must combine slow, rhythmic movement to the beat with brief high-velocity dashes to escape enemies.
