I will be using Unity to build the game, as it gives me the flexibility to release on different platforms in the future. For now, as I want to release Torchlight on iOS, I can easily transfer my Unity file to macOS to create the iOS approved build and release for iPhone and iPad.
I will be using Adobe Photoshop to create 2d assets for the game, as this is the industry standard software. I may choose to experiment with Beepbox to create my own sounds for the game, or find copyright free ones online.
I will use Adobe Premier Pro to create promotional videos and materials, as well as Photoshop and Canva.

Sharing news about my project on LinkedIn will spread the word about Torchlight to other people in the industry. Sharing event dates and personally inviting alumni and peers will ensure Torchlight gets as much attention as possible. Directly contacting people would show my enthusiasm and dedication to my work, and hopefully grab their interest. Having industry guests at events would be useful for me in the long run, as they can give me feedback on my work and potentially share my work with others, opening the door for future job opportunities.
Polished and passionate advertisement campaigns on LinkedIn and Instagram will give people insight to my game before playing it, sparking interest and discussion. By putting out polished advertisements, people will recognise my work as good quality and will hopefully pay more attention to it. Advertising event days will be particularly important, so as many people as possible can come and test out the game for themselves.
Event preparation is also extremely important. Designing my stand to match the games theme and providing merchandise is key to grabbing peoples attention, and show my attention to detail. Having merch will give guests something to remember Torchlight by when they leave the exhibition, keeping them thinking about the game. I will also provide business cards with links to my personal portfolio, where guests can view my work, potentially opening up future job and collaboration opportunities.
Telling my friends and family about Torchlight and my events will also be a great way to spread the word, as they can share the news with their friends and find others who might be interested. Having a demo of the game to share with others would also be a great way of giving people a taste of what Torchlight has to offer, and generating more interest.
I would like to release Torchlight on iOS at the end of the year, but not until we have done all of our exhibitions, as I’d like as many people to come and play the game in person as possible first, and releasing it too soon could cause reduced interest for shows. Generating hype for the game via social media and events will hopefully create a bigger build up for the games release.
