03.11.2025 – Game Poems
In week 6, Jordan gave a lecture about game poems and their significance. From his presentation, I learned that poetry and video game design are media that are closely linked and it might be useful to look at game design through the lens of poetry. For example, sometimes it is good to consider usage of less, more powerful design elements, to enhance the message transmitted through the game.
Jordan gave some examples of game poems, which can be found in the link below. I’ve played through the three presented below and all of them have a cozy, reflective feel to it, which I liked. It shows how a concept is often more important than vast resources put into production.
