Artstyle Direction

Inspired by the history of comic making, I want to base the style of this comic on the comics of the 19th century, although many of these comics were satirical, so I want to be inspired by this style, while giving it an overall more serious tone. Here is some moodboards for the style that I want my comic to have:

Here are some concepts of what the inside and outside of the Library might look like, inspired by some of the moodboard images, focusing on evoking a Grand feeling and practicing environment perspectives.

I have decided not to include colour, and to focus heavily on the lineart to ensure a reminiscence to a historic style. Based on this decision, I also attempted kitchen lithography, inspired by that fact that many 19th century comics would be printed using lithography. My attempt is detailed here:
