During the last two weeks, I have worked on this website, as well as the team website. While most of my teammates followed my request to send over the short paragraphs for the website on time, one of them didn’t get in touch until the last minute when the deadline was missed.
Nevertheless, the website has been put together and I have gained some useful skills from managing it. I have also received some advice from teachers on how to better distribute the information on both websites.
From what we as a team went through during this project, I’d like to say that all the mistakes could have been easily avoided if people took their job more seriously. On the other hand, I myself would definitely need to be more professional about many things.
On a more positive note, we were finally given a green light to move into the new campus building next year. We had a third year lecturer talk about all the new learning spaces and open-studio layout, which I think is a great idea. That way all the years can see what everyone is working on, and the collaboration has a chance of going smoother when people have a space to communicate.
Third year sounds exciting to me, with the program that we will have. As we already had a chance at presenting our own concepts to the group, I think it will be way easier to find like-minded people for the upcoming project. It also provides a chance to work on something you feel passionate about. I would like to dedicate more time to my artistic skills, because taking on the role of Project Manager brought unnecessary stress upon me…I feel like over this year I didn’t have enough chances to do something I actually enjoyed, and that’s why the work hasn’t been the most productive.
