Week Six- Game poems

03/11/2025

In our Monday lesson, Jordan gave an engaging talk about Game Poems and why they’re worth considering when developing our own ideas. I was not in however, I know he showed some of his short games, which were simple but impactful.

In the afternoon, Adam presented three of his games. He got a few classmates to play them and asked what we thought each game might be about. Afterwards, everyone split into small groups where they could discuss their ideas with Adam and Jordan.

I wasn’t there to receive feedback, however me and Izzy had already started generating ideas at this point so she shared them on our behalf. One of the ideas I had contributed, the metaphor about how the “media kills”, came up during discussion. Adam and Jordan then offered some helpful insights into metaphors and how they can be explored in more unique and creative ways.

One point that stood out was the idea of intrusion. Adam mentioned a story about how a single tweet once caused significant issues for him, and Jordan added the thought that “we’re all kind of our own celebrities in a sense.” From that, a new spark emerged for one of our potential games

Notes

During this week Maja was interested in becoming part of our team, so we will have a group meeting and discuss ideas me and Izzy have already come up with. So far me and Izzy have a total of 24 ideas and we need to narrow that down to three.
