Gap Analysis
To have a better understanding of my own skill set, I’ve created a gap analysis chart. This shows what I’m strong, 50/50 and weak in. This will also give me and Izzy a better understanding what gaps we may need to fill, possibly by bringing in a new team member or just being mindful and not go too far fetched with our concepts that are put of our skill level.
| Skill | Current Rating | Gap- next steps |
| Art (character/environment, UI) | ✅ | |
| Player experience UX | ✅ | |
| Prototyping | ✅ | |
| Narrative | ✅ | |
| Programming | 🟠 | I’m strong in python and I know the basics of c#. I would have to learn more c# to be fully confident in programming, however it’s something I am open to learn. |
| 3D modelling/texturing/rigging/animation | 🟠 | I’ve created a lot of 3D models in the past in 3Ds Max, however I’m not strong in this sector. |
| Audio (creating, sourcing, implementing | ❌ | I’ve had brief lessons on audio in games in college, however it is not my thing at all. This could potentially be something someone in the class could help with. |
| Production management | ✅ |
On Wednesday me and Izzy plan to have a meeting to talk about and finalise our last game concept ready for week 9.

On Wednesday Izzy and I had a meeting to complete the ‘Broken Lens’ game concept. Linked below is this game concept meeting, research and final concept.

So far Izzy and I have completed all the research for our game ideas. All we have to do now is convert this research into a slides format and we each decided to create a prototype for ‘Broken Lense’. On top of this I need to complete 4 basic prototypes showing each game loop in action.
