Core idea of role design

As I have said in the project overview, this project itself is not a battle attribute, so I am actually more concerned about what the survival perspective of this small creature with limited strength that can’t directly defeat the enemy will look like.

At first, I wanted to use small urban creatures in real life. However, I found that the kind of city animals that can be seen in the city are:

  • Not completely vulnerable groups in the city(like cats)
  • or the fame is not that good, which is easy for players to leave a bad first impression(like rats)
  • or the survival goal is too single(like squirrels)

And at the same time, I hope my works have a little fantacy and fairy tale feeling. So I choose not to use the species that actually exist in real life, but focus on the weak species that often appear in games or animations.

I chose Slimes as my frame of reference. This fantasy creature is often described as the weakest enemy in the game, and is generally used by players as an exercise for novice tutorials.

However, I found that, the slime, as a goo creature, It’s not like a creature that will exist in nature in real life.
Therefore, I intend to create a type of creature by myself, with round shape and weak strength, but more like a creature that will really exist in the world, rather than being completely overhead.

Characters & Race

Therefore, players will get a first hunch: in this game, maybe we don’t want to choose confrontation.

And that kind of body shape with strong shapeability in design also allows players to explore the concept of enemies in the game, because it means that blunt objects are difficult to cause effective damage to them, and players can learn to adapt to and operate the environment without encountering high-pressure escape from the beginning.
