UI design

For the UI design of my game, I want to refer to Hollow Knight. I will try to use low-saturation colors, a dim interface and highlight the design sense with bright lighting effects
In terms of art, I will draw on the approach in “Journey” where light and range are used to change players’ emotions. I will create a 2d flat game with 3d characters and change levels by switching shots. In the deep sea, it will be a side-scrolling game. When soul migration is added, it will change to a god ‘s-eye view to observe the water tornado and take the souls to the stars. The slowly rotating nebula is like the gate of reincarnation, within which tens of thousands of souls soar. I will incorporate elements such as sound waves, light effects, and bubbles into the game

Regarding the most ideal state of My design, the UI that flows along with the music, the tentacles of jellyfish wrap around the semi-transparent interface, the overall state is dazzling and colorful, the tentacles at the edges float, the health UI in the game state is like a container of the soul, just like in the game Where's My Water? The way to win in the container is the same: by absorbing the soul and touching the light to gain health points. When damaged or shrouded in darkness, the light in the container will be slowly dissipated,However, the designs of Monument Valley and ORI are also of reference value. Both are mainly based on light

Art style

In terms of art, simple forms mainly based on light and form are used to create 2D side-scrolling images with 3D modeling. THE character models are simple sketch cartoon images with non-real rendering (NPR), and the maps are 2D side-scrolling images with different layers of Hollow Knight and DAVE THE DIVER.

The above is a rough reference for my character game image
