Games Writing &
Narrative Design
Narrative design is an indispensable part of many games. The framework of a story can be produced from textual narration and the like, or described through the world view, characters and mechanisms.
Narrative not only enhances players’ emotional investment and immersion during the game process, but also serves as the core of some games, providing players with background, meaning and behavioral motivation.
The structure of the narrative can be a single ending or multiple endings, mixed or linear, all of which can be presented in the game. At the same time, what is the significance of the role played by the player in the process of achieving the ending? Writers create stories, narrative designers apply them, and players make the decisions. They guide and describe the direction of the game through the hints you give

This is a super, ultra-powerful, infinite combo, gold-patterned, platinum-cast shovel. It can be used to dig soft substances, strike targets, and deflect projectiles. Slapping with it will cause dizziness and damage to the enemy. It can also serve as a support or be thrown as a projectile.

In the group activity of the story, we place the players in a creepy attic for exploration. The ghost of a mysterious boy is reflected in the mirror, and the players don’t know who it is, but the characters keep interacting. As the players keep interacting, things gradually become clear. I try my best to make every interaction meaningful. Short videos or some interactions, mechanisms and sounds that evoke memories in each interaction are like many story-driven horror puzzle games, allowing players to explore the full picture of the stock market.
Later on, the player will recall the incident on the day of the accident. He and his younger brother were playing by the river. One slipped into the water, while the other, out of fear, didn’t have the courage to save him. We have designed several endings for the story, allowing players to decide for themselves how to deal with this memory. It could be that you overcome your fear and no longer feel lost, decide that the same thing will never happen again, save your younger brother in the dream and achieve self-redemption, or you can start to escape again, pretend to forget all these things and not respond to any expectations.
