3D Modelling Direction

Within Archive 13, Jessie and I agreed that a unique spin on the game would be to have the players start in a 3D environment of the rundown tabloid office where they will be able to interact with the phone which will run them through a backstory/tutorial on what they need to do and also interact with the computer which will then change the game into 2D.

To help us both get a look and feel for the design, I created in-depth mood boards for each environment, which will also help ensure all scenes feel like they belong in the same world, reinforcing the game’s realism and atmosphere. These images also display ideas for texturing in the future.

Environment/Level Design

Due to our game having multiple environmental scenes, I went ahead and created more in-depth mood boards to again ensure that Jessie and I were on the same page, and it will allow us to have a main point to refer back to when it comes to actually creating the art for the game.

Concept Art For Environments

The environments in this game consist of meet-up points where the player will meet the anonymous sender to gain more information, or the office in where they work.

For anywhere in-game outside of being on the computer we’d like it to be 3D. However for our prototype (and just to gain some sense of what we’d like the visuals to look like) me and Izzy created two concept pieces – the office and an alley way.

Character Design

Even though our game isn’t too heavy on the character side of things, I still created in-depth mood boards for the current two characters that we have in mind and that did two quick concepts so that we could insert them into the game to get a feel for how they may look, I would like to mention that the design of the characters maybe subject to change in the future.
