As this is a short‑term project of 12 weeks, we must allocate our time strategically and prioritise tasks with precision. With both Jessie and I’s team roles defined, it ensures operational efficiency, allowing us to advance in parallel across disciplines. By structuring our workflow into sprints, we can deliver progressively more complete builds of the game, demonstrating consistent progress and disciplined project management that aligns with our overall vision.
Our goal is to deliver a new build at the end of each sprint, incorporating further developments that can be play-tested with a clear focus. This approach ensures continuous feedback and steady improvement. Every version of the game will remain functional, with each playtest designed to evaluate specific features or mechanics. Sprints will run on a three‑week cycle, culminating in four iterations that progressively refine the game towards completion.
Tasks are colour-coded accordingly to what each of our responsibilities may be for each sprint. For now, this is a rough layout of how the sprints may go; however, this can be subject to change depending on whether tasks get completed quicker or slower.
Sprint 1 (Weeks 1-3)
Izzy’s Tasks
- Set up our social media accounts/start creating posts on those accounts for the three weeks
- Go through the narrative and proofread/write character barks & dialogue
- Greybox, some of the 3D elements
Jessie’s Tasks
- Start programming the basic game systems
- Design and set up simple UI elements like menus and dialogue boxes.
- Work on the story: check the narrative and start writing character dialogue.
- Create basic 2D art for the office environment.
Sprint 2 (Weeks 3-6)
