Pitch Deck vs GDD — Lecture Notes:
Pitch Deck
Purpose
* To entice collaborators
* To acquire funding from publishers, investors, or executives
* To communicate the game’s overall vibe
* To explain what it will take to make the game
GDD
A GDD is a detailed design document that explains exactly how the game works.
Purpose
* To provide a detailed description of the game
* To help developers understand:
* What tasks they need to complete
* How long implementation may take
* To ensure everyone shares the same mental image of the game
Key Difference
Pitch Deck sells the idea.
GDD builds the game.

In Thursday’s class, I showed my GDD and gained some new suggestions and modifications:
1. ” What is AURA? Why does it exist? Why don’t you just use words to narrate?”
The following is my supplementary explanation of “AURA”:
AURA is not a storyteller, but an emotional echo left by time. Its existence makes the world like a ‘perceptual space’, Because in the worldview of the world in loops:
The time experiment failed and time no longer moved forward, but AURA is retaining the incomplete memory of the world: it remembers, but it is incomplete. It can perceive change, but it cannot really act. This is why it can only “dialogue, remind, resonate” and cannot repair the world for Steve.
And from the perspective of player experience: AURA is “the world is talking to you”
So I want players to feel that when AURA speaks, it is not “NPC talking to me” but that the city is responding to me in a low voice through the afterglow of time.
2. Each round of Loop mood changes, but “Will the structure become too similar?”
Therefore, I plan to clarify the stage changes of the Loop type in GDD, such as:
In this way, people can make it clear:
Why don’t you get tired for 3–5 hours?
Every 20 minutes of Loop in ”What‘s different to expect“
