During the final weeks of the semester, I continued to add content to my blogs while balancing research, project development, induction sessions, and personal wellbeing. A large part of this period involved reflecting on the overall journey of Developing Memories and ensuring that my work was properly documented across each week. Throughout this process, I continued attending Adam’s induction classes, researching environmental storytelling and visual references, and refining my understanding of game development through both practical work and written reflection.

Alongside this, I remained active within the project by communicating with teammates, updating progress, and continuing development work wherever possible despite several personal and emotional difficulties during this period. The screenshots and conversations included here reflect moments where I discussed project progress, shared updates, apologised for absences due to wellbeing issues, and continued trying to support the team while managing external circumstances. During these weeks, I also received wellbeing support while trying to maintain consistency with my coursework and blog development. Although balancing everything became extremely difficult at times, I still wanted to contribute meaningfully to the project and continue improving my work until the final stages of the semester.
Looking back at these final weeks now, I think they represent one of the most important stages of my development throughout the project. Not only did I continue to improve my technical and creative skills, but I also learned the importance of communication, resilience, organisation, and professionalism in collaborative environments. Even during difficult moments, I tried my best to remain honest, responsible, and supportive towards both my teammates and tutors. Overall, this period helped me understand that game development is not only about creating visuals and assets, but also about teamwork, adaptability, reflection, and continuing to grow creatively and personally at every stage of the process.
AI Usage Statement
Throughout the development of this project and reflective portfolio, Grammarly was used responsibly to assist with spelling, grammar correction, punctuation, and the refinement of written language clarity in line with academic writing expectations. All research, environmental designs, visual assets, creative decisions, experimentation, development work, and reflective content documented throughout this portfolio were independently produced and developed by me. Any use of supportive digital tools was limited purely to language refinement and improving written presentation, while ensuring that all ideas, practical work, reflections, and creative outcomes remained authentic to my own learning process, personal experiences, and creative practice in accordance with Winchester School of Art and University of Southampton academic integrity guidelines.
Personal Reflection
Throughout this project, the group remained supportive and collaborative, especially during difficult periods across the semester. As a team, we continuously applied contingency plans and adapted our workflow whenever challenges appeared, which helped us continue progressing even during stressful stages of development. Both Marie and my PAT, Vanissa, were incredibly supportive throughout the semester by regularly checking in, offering advice, wellbeing support, and encouraging me to continue progressing with my work despite personal difficulties.
During the semester, I experienced several emotional and personal challenges, including repeated illness, wellbeing difficulties, and the loss of close family members such as my grandmother. Alongside this, there were also stressful external circumstances involving family members living within active war zones, which emotionally affected me throughout the project. Although balancing these situations with university work became extremely overwhelming at times, I still tried my best to continue contributing to the project and work whenever I felt emotionally and physically able to do so.
Throughout these experiences, university wellbeing services also remained supportive and helped me continue navigating the semester during difficult moments. Looking back now, I feel this project shaped me not only as a designer but also as a person. It taught me resilience, adaptability, communication, and the importance of continuing to move forward even during emotionally challenging situations. Overall, this experience helped me become more confident creatively and personally, while reminding me to stay encouraged and continue growing despite obstacles.
